Case Study Summary: AI-Driven Supply Chain Resilience

BrainPredict is the AI platform that provides integrated decision-intelligence solutions designed to help organisations predict risks, coordinate decisions across business functions and continuously improve operational performance.

Its technology connects specialised AI capabilities through a shared intelligence layer known as the Intelligence Bus. This enables insights from areas such as supply chain, sourcing, operations, finance and risk management to be combined rather than analysed in isolation.

In this case study, BrainPredict deployed the 22 specialized supply AI models that worked continuously together to deliver autonomous predictive material management.  This enabled a major player in the Italian food industry to proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies:

  • Anticipating raw material shortages

By analysing agricultural data, supplier information and relevant social signals, the AI identified a high risk of disruption involving an existing supplier. The risk resulted from a combination of labour strikes and reduced crop yields.

Recommended action: rebalance purchasing volumes and source the affected raw materials from alternative suppliers in alternative region in Italy, France and Spain.

  • Detecting supplier financial risk
Through analysis of supplier carrier data, the system flagged early warning signs of potential bankruptcy.
Recommended action: Identify and switch to alternative carriers and optimize routing options to maintain continuity.
  • Optimizing product quality
Analysis of raw material quality data revealed insufficient gluten protein levels for a premium product line.
Recommended action: Adjust the mix of raw material batches and adapt the production process to meet required quality standards.
