  • Supply Chain Café by PICS Belgium #3

Cyber Security in supply chain is no longer optional; your customers expect it

Animated by Thomas Heyman, security expert at Toreon. He is a security architect with 15 years of experience in both academia and industry. He has a PhD in secure software engineering, and has experience in secure architecture, governance and compliance, and bringing IT and OT together.

Introduced by Jan De Kimpe, VP PICS Belgium

Today supply chains are totally dependent on computers/servers/IoT/automated processes/AI/…, but how do you protect these critical components? What is the impact if you aren’t properly doing it? And how does proper protection lead to competitive advantage? We will discuss how Cyber security can be an asset to both gain more customers and prevent losing existing ones.

If you treat cyber security as just a policy on paper or a computer screen, you are not getting your money’s worth. So what is the correct way to start a security program that is effective and provides business value? Thomas Heyman (one of the subject matter experts) will give some advice from the trenches on how to start using your security program to gain customer trust and protect your infrastructure at the same time.

The principle of the supply chain café is a 20 minutes presentation of the topic, followed by statements for discussion and discussion amongst peers, to learn from each other. The main results thereof will be shared in the form of general conclusions.

Supply Chain Café by PICS Belgium is a new initiative of PICS Belgium, oriented to members and domain experts, with the goal to distribute knowhow discussing amongst peers.
