Is the warehouse operator of the future digitalized and connected?
Today the warehouse operator is primarily receiving his instructions via barcode terminals or voice communication. This steering improves productivity and accuracy of warehousing work and connects the operator to the WMS. But (IOT) technologies such as inhouse positioning, Augmented Reality, RFID, sensors, etc. create extra information to improve steering of operators. When integrating these technologies, can we then safely assume the warehouse operator of the future to be completely connected and digitalized? Today’s operator profiles already require a fair amount of agility and flexibility, what will be additionally needed going forward?
