On 17 November, Supply Chain Masters and PICS Belgium presented for the 17th time the supply chain awards for best supply chain project of the year chosen by the jury, supply chain project of the year chosen by the public and the award for startup of the year. At the Event Lounge in Schaerbeek, 4 finalists & startups competed for the prestigious titles. The four diverse projects all bring a strong and inspiring story & the startups give a fresh look at the future & what is already possible today in the wonderful world of supply chain.

The jury rewarded the strong COVID-19 Vaccination campaign Flanders project from the Vlaams Agentschap Zorg & Gezondheid with the prestigious Supply Chain Project of the Year Award.
At the end of 2020, it was decided that the responsibility to operationalise the inter-federal vaccination strategy lay with the regions. The inter-federal vaccination task force drew the strategic lines and the regions translated this strategy into a workable operational & logistics model.
The supply chain was undefined at this time, late 2020. There were only vague promises of deliveries from a few potential suppliers. Therefore, it was important to draw out the full logistics chain from 0. The logistics flow that was drawn out incredibly quickly secured Flanders a place in the world’s top COVID vaccination distribution.

After a neck-and-neck race, the audience gave the Audience Prize to Stanley Black & Decker & Peripass for the project Autonomous Yard operations, the road to onsite visibility & operational excellence.
Stanley Black & Decker Tessenderlo is the European distribution centre of the Stanley Black & Decker Group. At Stanley Black & Decker’s 65,000 m² site in Tessenderlo, the loading and unloading docks are a busy hub. To get a good overview of all truck movements, Stanley Black & Decker enlisted the help of Yard Enabler Peripass. The great result is better visibility of everything that happens on the logistics site and a smoother flow of vehicles in the yard. Stanley Black & Decker uses the Peripass platform to easily call out trucks and get real-time visibility of all logistics activities and vehicles on site, and to facilitate communication with international truck drivers. Finally, the planning and tasks of warehouse workers and security are also managed in the mobile Peripass Yard Operator App.

Start-Ups in the spotlight

Ample time was also provided to learn from the nominated startups and to highlight new insights and technologies. The nominated startups were:

  • Dockflow
  • Fullup
  • robonext
  • Streamliner

The Jury & the public voted Dockflow startup of te Year 2022!
The world’s first Logistics Enablement platform that enables forwarding teams to work more efficiently and enjoyably, enabling a company to provide better service to customers and allowing the business to focus on meaningful tasks. Logistics teams face an unprecedented workload. Manual checks and tracking ETAs in a spreadsheet are a thing of the past – time can be better spent productively: Dockflow then takes over the heavy lifting.

The Supply Chain Community gathered for a top evening of inspiration & networking!
With more than 285 attendees, the 17th edition of the Supply Chain Awards was a great success.
At more than 34 tables, award show attendees enjoyed a delicious meal.
After two years of absence from the Supply Chain Awards due to covid-19, the reunion of the community was once again pleasing. We are therefore looking forward to next year’s edition!
