The goal of the training is to help you to better understand the forecast process, techniques and challenges in order to prepare you to become an actor of forecast improvement.

The training examines the subdomains in which the discipline takes place: strategy, processes, organization and systems.

As a result, you recognize how to enhance forecast accuracy and how to initiate service & operational improvements to ensure that customers get what they want when they want, and that we supply what is needed when needed.

You will learn :

What the importance is of good forecasts and a good forecasting process for the organization
How to predict the future demand for your products in a better way, which models and techniques to use
How to analyse historical data, identify trends, patterns, and seasonality, and make informed decisions based on data insights
How AI can help you to come to better Forecast: understand the fundamentals, basic techniques, data requirements and limitations
How to set up Forecast Accuracy and determine Forecast Value Added
How to set up a good forecasting process and how to coordinate sales and production in a more efficient way through the S&OP process

Day 1

The Basics of Forecasting

Many different things come into the picture within Demand Planning & Forecasting. It is important to understand why we forecast and what the basic building blocks are of a good forecast process.

During this day we will cover the following topics:

Why and when to Forecast
The building blocks of good Forecasting
Multi-level forecasting or not
Forecast statistics : different quantitative & qualitative techniques

Day 2

Improving the base Forecast

A good forecast process covers much more than statistics on historical data. It is crucial to improve the statistics with real business knowledge, to learn from previous errors and to collaborate within and outside the own organization.

During this day we will cover the following topics:

Adding Business Intelligence & Consensus Forecasts
Demand management & Forecast consumption
Performance measurement & Forecast Accuracy
Forecast process & Organization
New developments : Demand Sensing, Artificial Intelligence
